Indifference

Death by indifference, you murdered my love.
Silence that left me by the wayside, words lost upon the helpless.

Razor blade lined dominoes fall across a life, carving lines of blood.
Genuine empathy falls short, as the broken body hits a floor of apathy.

Sharp tongue lingers a jab as the back quickly turns,  face forward
the cadaver falls writhed in pain, an ending bares starkly.

Pierced flesh rebels silently as skin speaks of castigation.
Indifference bruised an ego.

Death a kind release from the emotional pummeling
left to bankrupt a soul into emptiness.

The eyes look beyond to the place
abandoned by a heartless response.

Skewered by niceties that could not be farther
from the truth, painfully retreating.

Love, given in innocent faith, turned dark and rotten,
by the egotistical seduction of self pride.

No indifference, you carry so much pain in the lack of sympathy,
extended to individuals so needy and wanting.

Love given a pass, shown a theatric display to reach aims
falsely contrived, so the victim befalls wherewith.
